LEARN TO SKYDIVE- WHAT YOU LEARN HOW YOUR PREPARE

OUR SKYDIVING COURSE IS DESIGNED TO MAXIMUM KNOWLEDGE RETENTION.

WE SIMPLIFY WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW. WE TEACH YOU TO REACT IMMEDIATELY TO A SITUATION WITH THE CORRECT ACTION.

CONFIDENCE REPLACES FEAR WHEN YOU ELIMINATE DOUBT IN YOUR KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY & EQUIPMENT . THIS IS ESSENTIAL FOR OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE.

KNOW WHAT IT TAKES TO EVALUATE SITUATIONS UNDER PRESSURE AND MAKE THE RIGHT DECISION.

PREPARATION BEFORE THE COURSE

HOW DO I KEEP SAFE IN FREE FALL?

Most people I talk to think that when you jump out of a plane you are falling uncontrollably, hoping for the best and opening a parachute. This could not be further from the truth.

When you exit an aircraft you accelerate in the first ten seconds to terminal velocity which is about 220 km/hr. When you reach this speed you have airflow which we work with similar to the way a surfer rides a wave.

The most important position in skydiving the ARCH position.

gives a skydiver stability and fine tuned control.

Arch Position.jpg

Now to give you the most peace of mind and to decrease any anxiety you may feel about skydiving, mastering the ARCH position is key. You can see that in this position the arms are outstretched and back, the legs are outstretched and back. The glutes, hamstrings and lower back muscles are all switched on. Your head should also be back which is not illustrated in this photo. You can see that the body in all orientations are symmetrical. In this position when repeated in free fall will give you the best chance to progress through the skydiving skills table and minimise having to repeat stages. Each stage you need to pass certain skills. In four jumps if you can master this position in free fall you will move from two instructors supervising keeping you stable to one instructor keeping you stable to the release dive where the instructor will fly in front of you. Their is nine jumps in the “Learn to Skydive” training table. At any point in time instructors on jumps 1-3 can fly to you ensure your stability to open your parachute cleanly. Stage 4 is where we empower you with the responsibility to open your own parachute because you have proven ability to do so.

WHAT DO PEOPLE FEAR THE MOST

WHAT IF MY PARACHUTE DOES NOT OPEN?

Parachute Technology which includes construction, operation, type of materials certainly has evolved over the past twenty years. As you can see in the below photographs we use rectangular parachutes. The front or the nose is open and the back or the tail is closed. When a parachute’s deployment sequence or opening sequence is initiated, air is forced into the front. Because the tail is closed, the parachute fills with air forming an aerodynamic shape or wing. I know people that have not used their reserve parachute for 2000+ jumps and if you learn good procedures you have the best chance of successful skydives.

If your parachute does not open you will experience either:

HIGH SPEED MALFUNCTION

OR

LOW SPEED MALFUNCTION

YOU WILL LEARN:

GOOD DECISION MAKING HOW TO MAKE DECISIONS UNDER PRESSURE AND WHAT THE NEXT IMMEDIATE ACTION NEEDS TO BE TO FIX OR CUT AWAY and OPEN YOUR RESERVE PARACHUTE

When you start skydiving journey and start making friends within our community, you will realise how rare it is for parachutes to malfunction if you follow best practice procedures when it comes to packing and maintaining parachute equipment. If you follow rules set out by the Australian Parachute Federations Operational Regulations you can enjoy a fulfilling journey skydiving around the world for many years. Your mindset will be on advanced forms of flying such as formation jumping wing suiting, skydive photography and more. Problem solving with a time constraint becomes straight forward.
